When you think of cheap cordless drills most of us think it has a really low price. In fact there are some good cheap cordless drills on the market for under $40 if you know where to look.
In your search for a cheap cordless drill you need to understand the low price may mean you sacrifice some performance that a higher price model would have. For example a cheap cordless drill will most likely have 12 volt or lower battery. The lower the battery voltage the less torque you will have.
It is important to understand that your cheap cordless drill will be very useful for around the house use, like drilling small holes, using the screw driver attachment for hinges etc. but you need to know most cheap cordless drill will let you down if you’re drilling through thick metal or any material that requires a drill with good torque to get the hole drilled.
Don’t worry too much because there is still plenty you can do with a cheap cordless drill and there are several I would recommend. Surprisingly, the 2 cordless drills I’d recommend are both made by Black and Decker. My very first cordless drill was made by Black & Decker and I still have in the garage and use it for light around the house jobs.
My first recommendation for a cheap cordless drill is the Black & Decker 9099KC. It is a versatile drill that has 2 speeds and uses a 7.2 volt battery which produces 60 inch-lbs of torque. It comes with a key-less chuck, so changing drill bits is very easy and no more wondering where you put the chuck key. The Black & Decker 9099KC low speed setting makes driving screws a breeze and the reverse switch allows you to remove screws as easy as you put them in.
The Black & Decker 9099KC is very affordable at around $40 and right now Amazon has it offered at 42% off (~$21.54) that price which makes it a great online deal. I’d head right over there now and buy it whiles it’s at this price, here’s a quick link to this great cheap cordless drill: Black & Decker 9099KC Cordless Drill.
My second recommendation for a cheap cordless drill is the Black & Decker BD12PSK. The BD12PSK is a very good drill with a 12 volt battery which produces 150 inch-lbs of torque (more than twice the torques of the 9099kc).
It comes with a key-less chuck and has a smart select drilling system that allows you to choose form 11 different settings for the drilling job your doing and it automatically adjust the clutch setting to that selection.
The Black & Decker BD12PSK is capable of doing more than the 9099KC above. The 12 Volt battery allows you to drill through thicker metals and other harder material.
The Black & Decker BD12PSK retails for around $70 but if you know where to look online you can get it cheaper. Presently, Amazon is offering the BD12PSK at about 40% off this price which brings you price down to something really affordable.
